Is it ok to T off the port in the intake manifold for booster, pcv, distributor and tranny if running a hp carb. No room for a spacer that can be drilled and tapped.

I would NOT use the same port for PCV and ANYTHING else. The pcv is a controlled vacuum leak that will reduce available vacuum to anything else on that vacuum fitting.

Drill 'n' tap the manifold for another vacuum nipple.

Hello,

Just installed 1000 HP and ran into same issue.

My intake was tapped for a 1/8 fitting already. The local auto parts store (or Home Depot in plumbing section) has a variety of 1/8 brass fittings....Tee....elbow.....straight. It was easy to create the vacumn ports I needed. The same variety of shapes is available for 3/8 brass fittings if you want to tap a larger vacumn port in your intake.

I thought the 1/8 size was maybe too small, but it is working fine for my power brakes. I am using 1/8 brass tee. Used half inch long threaded nipple to screw tee to intake. Once tee was tightened onto intake using the nipple, I had 2 ports available on the tee for vacumn. The auto parts store has various size hose fittings that you can screw into the tee. For port 1, I went with a 3/8 hose fitting that screwed right into the 1/8 tee. My power brake booster hose is 3/8 and it clamped to the 3/8 fitting. For port 2 I used connected my vacumn gauge.

Also, Ground Up and restoration suppliers sell a variety of original type vacumn ports (multi branch, 2, 3, 4 ports, etc etc) that screw into the instake manifold.

Good luck, Joe

I just bought a 1000HP and had the carb shop drill and install a vac port in the carbs billet base plate, no need for a ported carb spacer.
