im so sick and tired of phone calls saying my warranty is about to expire on my vehicle. what the hell i dont have any warranties and it dont help to hit number two because they still call back.(push 2 now to remove your number) ya right

and other phone calls for credit card protection or "are you in debt" let us help you make your payments lower.

i give the person on the other line hell till they hang up i figure if there going to call im going to be mean to there non english speaking ..............

maybe now i wont get near as many phone calls.

the way i see if i need something i will call you. dont call me.

the vehicle warranty about to expire call is the only just call i've ever got on my cell phone. i was kinda pissed. especially since there is no warranty and hasn't been for some time!

You have to listen to Tom Mabe's CD of his prank telemarketing calls. VERY funny. :D Caller I.D. is a blessing. Never answer unless it's someone I want to talk to

that do not call list is a joke- it only applies to calls that originate within the US. all a US company has to do is contract with a call center in India or Pakistan or Canada or wherever, and they can call you all they want.
it is just something that the government set up to make it look like they are actually trying to do something good- it probably was an election year when it got passed- and as a clever way to spend more of our money.

ya those pranks are funny we have a radio station that seems to do this weekly very funny to listen to.

I dont have caller i.d. or nothing like that, in my attempts to keep the cost of living down i dont get anything extra for the phone- to me not worth it.

my cable (digital programming) somewhere around 150-200 channels or more plus my digital phone and high speed cable internet cost me 125 bucks a month which i think is the cheap of the cheap.

i also do what i can to keep utilities down. my house 3300 square feet plus my shop right at 1000 square ft cost anywhere from $135(spring/fall months) to $390(hot summer/cold winters) a month in total utilities (electric, gas, sewer, trash, drainage fees and what ever else the city adds on).

all this gives me more money for my cars to play with and spend money where I want.

The kids answer the phone and hand it to me because they ask for me by name, including my middle initial. So I know it is a telemarketer, I just click the hangup button, before listening.

Today though, it was the county, I have applied for a job.:D
They wanted to set up an interview.
Glad I didn't hang up.:D

I think the Do Not Call list is great...

It DRAMATICALLY reduced the telemarketing calls we get. When we moved last year, it took a few months before we had it activated, and it was a noticable increase from our old number (on the list)... Once we signed up (and activated), I can not recall a single telemarketing call...

I do get several "hang ups" a week on my answering machine... And I still get the "polls" and political calls (which aren't blocked by the list)...

Everyone I know is extremely happy with the list...

Now the junk mail... I wish I could get on a list for that...

I just moved in to a home last year, and while my mother has not lived within 120 miles of here, I am getting junk mail addressed to her... I keep receiving "warrantee expiring" post cards for "her" car... BUT it is a year and model that no one in my family owns (or ever has owned)...

They don't usually talk to my answering machine. It's always on - anyone who knows us knows they have to talk for a while so we can find the cordless phone and answer...
