For a solid, I'd use the Lunati 402B3LUN. It is 304/312 at .020", 271/279 at .050", .630"/.630" valve lift, and 110 LSA. In a 511 BBC it should pull very good from about 4200 all the way to 7500. It is also reliable enough for street usage. Spring pressure should be about 140 lbs on the seat, and 340-350 lbs open.
For a roller, I'd use the Lunati 502B3LUN. It is 310/318 at .020", 276/284 at .050". .710"/.690" valve lift, and 108 LSA. In a 511 it should pull from 4200 to 7500, with more torque and HP than the flat tappet---about 50 or more HP-worth, in fact. It needs 225 lbs on the seat, and about 550 lbs open. I ran it all during the '80s with only 210 lbs on the seat.
Both cams will need a good fuel system, a minimum of 220-gph fuel pump/s, and 1/2", #8, fuel lines from tank to carb.
