: disc conversion/suspension recommendations?

I am looking to do a manual drum to power disc brake conversion and front suspension rebuild on my 1969 Chevelle. I do not want to piece-meal a bunch of parts and want to get complete kits to do the project. The car currently has 16" wheels, so I don't think I will be too limited in what kind of kit I need. I saw some brake kits and suspension kits on Summit's website that look fairly complete and are a decent price. A recent article in one of the Chevy mags was talking up Performance-Online and Master Power Brakes for suspension kits and brake kits. Has anyone dealt with them and have any input?
Can anyone recommend a well built, but fairly economical brake conversion kit? Also looking for decent springs. Do you guys recommend poly or rubber bushings?
The car will mainly be a cruiser, not planning on going to any road races in it. I just want to have something safe and reliable to take my kids to the shows and cruises in. Thanks in advance for any help you can provide.

Phil - I think the most affordable way out for you based on intended use is Dana/Spicer (from Napa) replacement front end pieces. I would even say get the offset crossshaft pieces to insure you can get a decent alignment. If you wanted a sportier, modern ride - you should get the adjustable uppers from SC&C.

As far as brakes your wheel size actually is a limiting factor. Only the stock 12" rotor size will fit. If I were you I would just get the stock parts for a '69 - If it every broke down you would be able to get any replacement part from the local parts store. Just make sure you get the proper proportioning valve for a 2 or 4 wheel disc setup.
