As the title states I was curious on what everyone saw as a possible value for one of these? I was ale to pick it up for a reasonable sum. The car is a GT so the model year span is from 70-75 or so. The car was a driveable car when it was last registered which was late 90's. The body is decent needs paint and minor glass work which that would depend on the level of perfectionism desired. The interior is dirty but is complete and intact only requireing a good cleaning dissenfecting. The chassis is in great shape and does not have the issues that most VDub chassis's have. The motor appears to be a 40hp so hold on, and has the typical swing axles. I do not know if there is anything done to it performance wise. The car doesn't look bad just a few shades of ugly.

I am figuring to ebay it what do you guys think something of this nature is worth?

Thanks
Tom

very little, I would think. Ugly, with lousy performance. Maybe there is a cult following?

I doubt it would be worth very much. It helps if it is really clean and is done 'period correct'. I remember the ads for those things. Typically they were painted in metalflake with Cragar S/S mags. Does it have the plexiglass gullwing doors? You know, if you get it all done period correct with the paint, wheels, accessories and even shag carpet you may find an aging hippie that would go gaga over it.

40 horsepower with swing axles. Let me guess, a 1966 chassis with a 1300 cc engine? A 36-horse up is indicative of 1961-onward chassis, 1200 cc displacement engine. The advantage is the dual port heads which lend themselves to modification, plus a fully syncronized transaxle. Still, swing axles are a bit scary.

I don't know you could be right. I am hoping to throw this on ebay and get something for it.

If I recall the last on I saw on ebay sold for about $2500. Non running and no windshield.

If I get $500 for this stupid thing I would be happy it looks like I have to wait for the weather to relax to pull it out of the garage and take pictures to list it.

I had an original set of plans w/original binder I sold at a local swap meet for $125. Car should be worth double that.
