Hi group. I hope someone here can help me. I purchased a set of Sanderson headers for my 66. I purchased the shorties with 1 7/8" tubes. The passenger side fit good but the #1 tube is hitting on the crossmember and the #5 is almost hitting the control arm on the drivers side. It looks as though the motor is where it needs to be if you look at the position of the Zbar and the car had a set of hooker headers on it when I bought it and they seem to fit fine. The headers they sent me are part no. bb7 and the invoice says they are for a gen. 6 motor and that is not what I told the salesman I have. I spoke with him and he says the same hears fits all the generation big blocks. If anyone has had a fit problem, could you please post for story. James Hinshaw says he knows of one customer that had a fit problem but that was all he could remember. All replys are much appreciated.

Thanks,
John Weaver

We bought them for the 60 Impala we built last year, sent 'em back, didn't fit our big block engine either. The flanges hit the ARP headbolts, can't grind the flange down as it's only 60 thou thick where it needed to be trimmed. We had a set of headers made on the car and the guy did a great job.

I have a 1967 SS 396 and my Sanderson Headers fit like a glove

I had problems with Sanderson shorties, very tight to the floor pan on the passenger's side, but the driver's side was incredibly close to the crossmember and the collector was angled towards the oil pan so the exhaust looked really bizarre. I think, though it was a few years ago, that they were BB3's, which are blockhuggers, but I'm not sure. I also have run their full length headers and had absolutely no problems with them. One would have thought it would be the other way around (those were C7's).

I don't see BB7 as a part number for Sanderson?
