I got a 72 malibu and Im making it a driver SS clone. I got all new interior for it and my question is...... Im thinking of putting the SS fender badges on the inside door panels and on the fenders because I think they look way better then the SS door panels badges. And I was going to put them where the malibu badge is now. And I have the 454 badges for the fenders also but they are red and so is my car. I dont think they will stand out very much on the red paint? So I also thought about putting them on the inside under the SS badge on the door panels? Just let me know if this is a stupid idea of mine or is it kinda creative? To me I know its not a true SS and Im not trying to convence people it is. I just want it to look good inside and out. It is a creative idea and if it were reversable, I'd say go for it. But I'm going to have to say no, don't do it.
I bought a 69 SS once that someone 'got creative' with the decorating the factory door panels with the outer SS emblems and although I thought it was OK for a while, I tired of them pretty fast. I ened up replacing perfectly good ORIGINAL door panels because of it. The repops I got afterward never fit well, or looked as good as the originals.
Your car is too nice for that.

I'd put the correct SS badges on the door panels. I agree with Jimmy P, it would be neat for a while, then you would get tired of it. Put them on the fender, I bet the crome outlined 454 would look sweet with the red emblem color on a red car. Maybe paint the 454 the same color red as the car?...my 2 cents.

Well im going to put the SS badges on the fenders for sure I just dont know if i should put the same badges on inside door panels or the real ss panel badges? I just like how the SS fender badges look against the black door panel on the inside.

Okay, I'll be honest... I think putting the much bigger fender SS emblems on the inside would look goofy...well actually I think it would look worse than goofy. But you know what..it is YOUR car man and you should do what ever you want to do with it.
