It has a definate line to the bottom right of the last letter - making it look like a "Q" not saying it could not be an "O" but sure looks like a Q

thanks for all the info so far

I plugged the vin into my database (the F in the vin means it was out of a 69 fullsize car assembled at Flint, MI), it fits in perfectly. The car would have been assembled beg. of March which makes sense with the Feb 20th assembly date on the engine pad. I think the number on the pad is actually T0220JQ. JQ being 396 with TH400. Could you post a picture of the vin by the oil filter?
Thanks, Warren

CE950665 is a service part

CE - Chevrolet Engine
9 - Year of manf.
50665 - Unit serial number (Tonawanda used 49999-79999)

Note-Likely only a short block as a majority of service parts were partials engines, they only replaced what need to be replaced. They reused the good parts like heads, intakes, oil pans, water pumps etc.
