Its no suprise that I have another question. How the heck does this thing go on? This is the "T" that the rear brake lines go into and the bracket that's supposed to hold it. Anyone have a picture?

The bracket bolts to one of the differential cover bolts.
This is the 10 bolt rearend from my '66. If you have a 12 bolt, the location is slightly different but you get the idea...

Early ones used a clip like BillsCamino and later used a bolt like your picture to hold the T fitting. Different bracket and T fitting but I think as a unit interchangeable.

Great information, but how does the one that I have attach? How do i orient the parts?

The bracket attaches by one of the top cover bolts so the T fitting is centered on the housing. See BillsCamino picture for orientation.

The brass T fitting and bracket in your picture aren't a set. The T fitting match to your bracket should have a hole to secure it to the bracket.

I have been told by 'right stuff' that the 68 uses the block and doesn't have the block pre-attached to the brake hose, which is why they sold me the block. I purchased both of these parts from right stuff actually. Here's another picture of the parts.

So, assuming the bracket was for a later year. I still don't see how it would attach through a bolt in the cover, but that's another discussion now. I guess first it needs to be determined if this is even the correct set.

I just happen to have what you need on the shop floor so I took a picture. Bad picture but I hope this helps. As you can see the hose is permanently attached to the T fitting and a bolt holds the fitting to the bracket.

Bill's looks like the early style and this is the later style, both brackets mount to the housing the same way.

I don't think the early style bracket is reproduced.

I think on the stamped steel covers there are areas where theres no lip, bet yours lays in there. Mines a little different than Bills (67). Un les youre going factory perfect put your brake lines on and youll get an idea where that block wants to go.

So the bracket I have is for the 69 and later models and used the hole in the brass fixture as pictured above. Which means I need a different bracket to go with my fitting. Of course that's assuming that the 68 is different than the 69.

How do I know the 68 isn't like the 69 and used the same thing as pictured as above? with the hole in the brass?

I've had 1968-70-71 12 bolts that had the same setup as my last picture.

First of all, I have a 67 rear on a 68 car, but that shouldn't make a difference should it. Also, there is a spot on the cover where the lip is missing but it's at the 10 or 11 o'clock position. How would that help?

that's funny that you say that because the hose I ordered from NAPA($12)came like the one you picture, and the one I took off the car was the same. I just figured the rednecks swapped it out to a 69 when they couldn't find the correct bracket. Maybe it was correct after all.

So, I should send the brass T back to rightstuff($20) and the expensive hose($20+) and keep the bracket and reorder the napa hose.

The ten bolts and 12 bolts used different brackets as well due to different bolt spacing.

I'm pretty sure either early or late bracket/fitting/hose will work on any year as long as they are used as a unit. I'm running the later stuff in a 67 car right now and plan on using the later style bracket/fitting on 65 and 67 12 bolts in the near future.

I marked the bolt to use when attaching your bracket.
