Hi- my wife and I are flying into texas (Love Field) thurs afternoon, hoping to buy a vehicle or two...3??? And were hoping to get some direction on cool ways to spend time, dragstrips, cool boneyards, good parts stores, also a decent ATV parts place.

We are looking for a late 90's burb/pick-up primarily but would also love to find a rolling Chevelle to accompany us too. Also looking for any Chev/GMC truck as a driver/project- I have lots of drivetrain stuff so not a huge issue. Any leads/good places to search other than autotrader.com would be fantastic.

Would anybody happen to have experience on whether/how much a PITA it is to get a temporary permit to hopefully drive my find home? A decent DMV to deal with would be great knowledge too.

Oh yeah maybe most important- anyone care to share who not to deal with? Feel free to pm if you don't want to bash in the forum.

Know of any out-of town wreckers or good spots to get parts?

There is the Northstar Dragstrip in Denton just north of DFW on I-35. There is also a very cool junk yard with all types of pre-70's cars right next to it. Lots of ATV parts houses up I-35 in Lewisville.

Cool places to hang out - Near American Airlines Center, McKinney Avenue & Down Town.

DMV - You're SOL. There all a PITA around here so good luck. :sad:
