hello everyone...
to make a story short.... back in 85'ish my dad dropped his original owned 66 belair station wagon off at a location for storage.... but never went back to check on it.
now since i have been restoring my 66 chevelle..... he has got the bug to find his...maybe!!
it was not sold... so he has the keys ,title everything.
now what to do? we are in pennsylvania, south central...york,pa to be exact.
he would just like to know where it is.... then maybe buy it back?
or it maybe a block of scrap steel for the last 20 years??!! who knows.....but we would like to track it down.....he has all the car information vin and such... any free searches??
the one's i try say they need 17 numbers or letters.
and his is only 13.

what is the best way????i went to the location and asked but no luck they do not remember such a car.

so...if you know of a way. :):)
:)

thank you...

If send me the vin, I can look in the impala database and see if we have any info on the car. I have been to several junyards somewhat close to there and I may have seen the car before. Does your dad have the protectoplate for it still?

Being that he still has the title, maybe the police could run the VIN. I wouldn't get my hopes up though. I had a 69 Camaro that I had left parked on the street when I moved (late 70's) I went back a few weeks later, and I guess someone had called the police, and they took it to the local impound site. I never got it out. Would have cost me a whole $200 to get it out, so I left it. Same could have happened to the Chevelle. Probably scrapped, or used for parts. I guess you never know though

If it was left at a storage facility it could have been sold as a lien vehicle and a duplicate title would have been issued. It is unlikely that it would still be around, but you never know.http://bestsmileys.com/thumbs/7.gif

When you post the info, can you post all of the info stamped into the protectoplate on the top three lines and the date and dealer info given in the protection plan book? If I don't have it in the list, I can at least enter in as much info as I can about the car in case I see it in the future.
