Has any one went from a 10" converter to a 8" of similar stall speed and seen any increase in performance?(ET or MPH) I am going to switch from a 10" TCI that flashes at 5600 to a 8" Coan at 5500. My TCI has about 25% slip. Thanks!!!!!

How in the heck does a 10" flash that high?

Don't be surprised if you pick up 2 to 3 tenths (in the 1/4)! Maybe even more depending on how poor your 10" is/was.

I don't know how but it does. I still ran a best of 10.87 at 122.4. I would love to see some more increase. It's a ALL MOTOR 408 sb in a 3400# street car.

Right... usually by the time you loosen a large one up enough to make it stall that high, it gets into the realm of never really hooking up all the way. Much easier to get a small one to hook up hard with a high stall speed.

Don't be surprised if your trap speed picks up a couple; probably not the ET so much though.

Though I'm no converter expert I agree with RB69SS396CONV.
That 10inch flashing that high is going to be built with plenty of slip.25% is way too much.
You will pich up with a good 8inch and about 10% slip.

I got the 8" converter today and put it in. I'm not sure what the seat of the pants tells you but it felt alot different. It was alot more prone to spin than before. One other thing I lost an annoying vibration that I've been trying to find. When the track opens I'll see if it helped.
