I apologize in advance for the long post but when I did a search nothing really matched my situation. I just wanted to ask everyones opinion on this. I recently purchased a set of Edelbrock ( Eibach made ) springs. After speaking with Marc @SC&C I am a bit confused.
I believe my car has an early style rear with the bolt on "half round" shape retainers that bolt the spring to a flat steel pad on the rear. I believe the spring should only have one pigtail. (bottom) Is this correct? The kit that I bought Edelbrock part #5240 lists 67-72 right on the box and has two pigtails on the rear springs. Before I bought the springs I checked the Edelbrock web site and they list the kit 5240 for 67s as well as 68-72. Something seems wrong here to me why wouldn't they combine 67-72 into one coluimn? My other concern is that Marc had mentioned that 68 -72 front springs are shorter than 64-67. I understand that these springs are supposed to lower the car by 1.3" but I am concerned more with the safety aspects of installing them.
I've always seen 64-67 being split from 68-72 as far as many of the suspension components go and I just want to be sure before I proceed. I have not tried to install these yet but my suspension is pretty much completely out of the car. I am just wondering if what I have will work or is this listed as the wrong application. If anyone else is using these the spring part numbers I have are
front: 178191 /3856.101
rear: 167534/3856.002
Any thoughts or insight is greatly appreciated
Thanks
