Every car is a bit different. For a while 1.56 worked for my car. Currently it is 1.58. NHRA uses 1.6. There is a chart linked in my sig.

I guess my last post got lost, so here goes again. Before the current engine we had a 481" BB in the car. It ran eight mile times only a couple of hundreths quicker than yours. On two 10.00 runs it ran 6.378 & 6.33 eighth mile times at a little over 107 MPH. What was your trap speed at the eighth mile point? I'm guessing about a 10.03 to 10.05 depending on how the car is geared. Pretty good power any way you look at it.

These times are on a car Im buying. He said he ran
a 6.39 @ 114 mph spinning like crazy.The car has
about 20 miles on it since being built and still
needs tuned yet.My X-chevelle had a best 1/8 speed 110 mph and it ran a 10.14 in the 1/4.This car has 411 out back.Thanks,BILL

Unless the car is geared for 1/8th mile tracks, that 114 is a lot of mph for a 6.39 et. At 114 in the 1/8th, it ought to be turning 139-140 in the 1/4 and that ought to be mid-9s (if it hooks).

True! He said it would'nt hook and needed some
tuning.I'll be having some fun playing with it.

I've run a 6.26 and run a 9.85 on that same pass with a 1.35 60' ,so theres another reference to compare to.........

Driver, If it was running 114 MPH at the eighth mile marker then it's a solid nine second car and yes it's not biting at all. With that kind of speed it could run 9.40s or 50s when you get it hooked up. It's probably only cutting about a 1.50 sixty foot with that much speed. Look for about 1.30s for a hooked 60' reading. Should run about 141-142 MPH if it ran 114 in the eighth. The gearing sounds about right for a all motor car. How much does it weigh with driver?

Bad news on this car.Was to pick up in the morning but the JERK just called telling me he sold it to someone eles after me working with him for 10 day's OH WELL! He said the 60 ft was 1.6 something blowing the tires off of it.
