Made in USA out of Kingman AZ...

We'll see if I can beat franks 4 week remodel. Demo Starts next Wednesday.
I'm not tearing out walls, so I think I should be able to get it done in about a week and a half.
Decided on ceramic tile for the floors, doing large 13x13 peices. No clue yet on the counters, probably just a formica w/ modern pattern & nice edges. Can lights are already installed, only wiring to do is converting the vent fan power line into an outlet for the stovetop microwave. Minor mods to the dishwasher supply line location (need to raise it 3") and will be opening the wall behind the fridge to install the ice box/water line "properly" into a little recepticle box.

In case I havn't said it recently, I'm very sick of remodeling... :)

Ben,

Good going! Cabinets look nice! Door pulls/knobs can bankrupt you! Shop around!
Recommend single hole pulls...less drilling!

Noted the dreaded pole in center of the garage...I gotta deal with that PITA too!

I'm finishing a few things before I call the electrician. When I turn on my micro hood, it draws a ton of juice. Install instruction say run a new dedicated line....something to consider and something I'll have done!

Sick of remodeling, eh? I'm closing in on a few job opportunities so I can work and PAY someone to do the rest!

How much does the "Installer" charge?

I think it came to $1400 or so- i'm sure its probably too much, especially considering i really do know how to do all this stuff... I'm sure it will be like anything else i hire out- I'll watch him do it, then kick myself for not just doing it myself.

Only thing i've found so far that i really don't mind paying someone else to do is drywall finishing... I freakin hate all the dust.

Ben,
That is a hell of a deal Dave is offering and I'm certain he'll give more attention to detail than an installer you don't know......
I paid $1500-$1600 maybe more, not counting holes at $3.00 each for knobs!

RAMBO

I'll do it for 800.00:thumbsup:

Dave, I wish I had known that you could/would want to do this before I ordered em...
Thing is, I've already paid for it (paid through lowes) and there is a certain ammount of insurance having them do it- if he screws something up- they have to fix/Replace it...

If i screw something up... its my $$....

$3 a hole is kind of rediculous- Supposedly all that is included in the install price I was quoted... I will verify 1st thing when the guy comes out... There are a lot of holes!!!

Dave, that tile saw rocks! Thanks for scaring up that deal. Definetly saving time instead of fighting with that table saw style one my friend loaned me...

taking a lot longer than i thought though... took both sat & sun to get the kitchen cut and glued down... so now the dining room side should go fast... nice big easy rectangle room...

i'll take some pics tonight

Man... I'm glad i don't set tile for a living... i'd be fired.
3rd full day working, and i'm still not totally done laying it down yet- not to even speak of grouting and sealing it... arg.

But- its Looking good. Mucho bettero than before. Pics don't really pick up all the different color tones in tile.. look really cool.
The grout will be a dark gray/black color.

Well, spent all day saturday grouting (except for a little break to go seal some pavement in the afternoon), and most of sunday morning.
Sprayed the first coat of sealer this morning, going home at lunch to do the second.

Tonight I have to slap together some baseboard trim into the fridge alcove, then tomorrow I can finnaly move the appliances back into place! :horray:

My new Countertops are still 2 weeks out, so I guess frank will get to retain his "fastest kitchen remodeler" title, But not by much ;)

I figure next weekend i should finnally be able to start wrenching on the elk to get it ready for the season.... Got a converter, shift kit, cooler to install, front brakes to fix, and apparently need to replace my battery cables...

.... Well, i definitely gotta take my hat off to frank for the 3 week kitchen remodel... Takes a lot of coordination and planning to do that.

I'm into week 5 now, and totally boogered it up yesterday, pushed us back another full week.

Everything is done now, except the countertop- It took us (the wife) forever to decide on the laminate pattern... Finnaly ordered one.. Lined up Dave to come down and help me build it on saturday- Worked all day, got it all ready to glue down the formica- rough cut the formica- started to bring it in, and my side of the peice flopped down and cracked.

$125 sheet of formica down the drain.

So.. ordered a new sheet today (wife flip flopped and wanted yet ANOTHER pattern) will be here later this week...

After this, all that is left is to hook up the sink & plumbing...

hopefully by the end of next weekend it will be done... Important lesson learned here- Don't Ever EVER EVER!!!! Do a major remodel while your wife is pregnant!!!

Well... its finnaly done.. Almost exactly 2 months start to finish.

The whole last month has been hassles with getting repacement formica sheet after i broke the first peice... Second peice was ordered a week late, then when it did show up it was damaged... Ordered peice #3... Dave was able to come back yesterday and we got high on contact cement fumes putting it down... Oh yeah... 1 gallon jug of Contact Cememnt = Hours of good feelings! :D :D

Today was spent running back and forth to lowes for the various plumbing stuff.... Got the new sink mounted, plumbed, new Disposal all hooked up(wow its so quiet you can't even hear it running right over it!), and the dishwasher is running right now for the first time in 2 months! :hurray:

So, still have some minor paint touchups, and need to figure out some sort of back splash material, but its finnaly 100% useable again... Whew. What a Pain in the butt!

Big thanks to Dave, Frank, and everybody else for giving me ideas, and support while I did this. :beers:

I gotta do my before and after shot!!!!

I have 2 extra 3" wide x 8' strips of maple that matches the cabinets- we ripped it in halves and used it for the counter edge- i think i may just buy one more of those, and use them for the back splash (3" wide). I'd love to tile it up to the bottom of the cabinets, but the budget & I are both burned out.

I'll take a couple closeups of the countertop material for you George... It is Formica brand, but its their High definition line, so it has a nice texture to it... just not shiny like the WilsonArt stuff is.
