Any help here with the BT? I know Baltimore, but the "T" throws me.

Thanks,

Are you sure that it a T and not a 1?
Heres a picture of one built a few weeks before yours.

Here is something else peculiar, the Vin # is 136370R226840.

NO, I am not sure , but will ask.

R = Arlington, TX. Why is there a B on the trim tag?

if your car has an R in the vin, than it will have BT on the cowl tag for 1970 built cars, 71 and 72 should have R on cowl tag. PLEASE IF I AM WRONG SOMEONE CORRECT ME.:boxing:

Thanks guys, I learned something new. I had never looked at an Arlington built car before, and I was unaware of the BT. Here again TC comes through with the facts I need.

Thanks much again.

I have a question for all you cowl tag experts: Does the information on the cowl tag really matter on a NOM drive train car that at has no documentation proving it is an SS?(assuming it is priced appropriately)

SURE IT DOES. some people have a nack at spotting clones. and some people dont. but the price is always the main factor in buying anything.

Assume you're talking 1970 here? Might depend on the plant if it's SS status you're concerned about. Kansas City and Baltimore possibly, POSSIBLY, have letter codes that MAY indicate the car was trimmed with SS badges, etc. The others plants have no such indications on their trim tags.

Other than that, if you're having a tag made just to reflect paint and or interior change, that's a coin toss. Reproduction tags are $225 or so - my first turn off - and can be spotted especially if you're tyring to make it look like a possible SS. Second, and maybe of no concern - yet, Oklahoma passed a law against 'counterfeit' trim tags. Counterfeit being altered original tags, swapped tags from another car, and/or reproduction tags with REPRODUCTION stamped on them. See http://www.oscn.net/applications/oscn/deliverdocument.asp?id=450125. It may very well spread to other states, who knows?

well put sir. if a person can get a copy of an old or original title to their car. it might document whether it is as SS or not. a plane chevelle sold new for around 2,800-a malibu for around 3,000, a malibu super sport (ie) SS sold for around 3,300, and if you got a 70 chevelle that has the ss option which sold for about or over 4,000 then it very well could be, well you know.:noway::yes::noway::noway::yes::noway::y es::noway::D:secret:

Yes, why and isn't the 765 interior code for Blue Bucket interior?
