I honestly don't know when they started production, but they began to advertise them in October of 1964. I've never seen one built earlier than mine, but I'll bet there were cars built earlier. Mine was built the last week of December 1964. They were not available at the beginning of the model year, but if I had to guess I'd say the earliest one could have been built was October or November of 1964. If anyone has an real evidence of early built '65 L79s, please share.

They were built at any plant, there wasn't anything special about them which limited them to any particular plant. I've seen L79 cars from Baltimore, Atlanta, Kansas City and Fremont. I'm certain all the plants built them.
