This is going to be a stupid question but i've only worked on 2bbl carbs my whole life and now that i have a 4bbl i have some questions.
Number 1- Are all the fittings and nozzles for vacume? (i know one of them is for fuel!)
Number 2- on the right side of it (the passenger side.)it has a little cylinder that says lean>. Is this an electric choke? If so, where does the wire go??
LOL, any help is appreciated, also, it is a hollet carb, maybe later i can get some pics but right now i don't have a camera! Thanks!

1. Dunno

2. Sounds like this is a Q-jet carb....no they're not electric (unless you see some electrical connectors on it). Q jets I believe operate off the engine's heat via a choke rod that comes out of the intake manifold.

However, if it were (or is) an electric choke the best place to hook the positive wire is on a switched 12 volt source. You can run a wire from the "IGN" terminal on your fuse block as this is a switched 12 volt accessory port that's only hot when the ignition switch is in "RUN".

And whatever you do, don't use the coil input wire!
