: Internet Explorer 7 .....any good ?
chevelless502 Feb 26th, 08, 4:03 PM I have IE 6 on my computer now and my ISP thinks thats why all the sudden im having log in problems to certain protected websites, such as ebay and others. Even though before they switched companies i never had a problem before. The tech person suggested switching to IE 7 is there any issues it has or things to be aware of before i do this?
Thanks
Andy
matt60j Feb 26th, 08, 5:20 PM I was hesitant to upgrade but im glad i did. Took a little to get use to but it is a great layout.
Jerry Briggs Feb 26th, 08, 5:44 PM once you get used to the tabs, you will love it. you can open several web pages and leave open while doing something in another web page. if working with multiple websites you can just tab back and forth. Love it.
jpete Feb 26th, 08, 6:12 PM I like the tabs too. I don't know as it necessarily more secure than IE 6, but it's pretty good to work with.
1badss396 Feb 26th, 08, 6:14 PM IE7 is ok but if you want a better browser get firefox motzilla.
Bowtie70ss Feb 26th, 08, 6:15 PM I had issues where IE6 or 7 were very slow on my computer. I scanned it, rescanned it, defragged it,etc. Once I switched to Mozilla Firefox it seemed to make my up/down loads a lot faster. I have 3+M DSL. Also I really like the undo close tab and the restore a unexpectedly closed session features.

slowtalker Feb 26th, 08, 6:45 PM The tabbed browsing is nice. Of course some of us rogues already had that with Firefox and Opera. Tabbed browsing, yet another in a long list of copied features. Go ahead and upgrade.
tpshea Feb 28th, 08, 12:27 PM FIREFOX :hurray:
Elcoman Feb 28th, 08, 2:31 PM IE is only for online classes that don't work w/ firefox.
Firefox for everything else.:D
Mike Feb 28th, 08, 2:40 PM Jay ,I use the "switch rendering engine" for the sites that don't like FF( IE tabs option).
I've upgraded to IE7 just to keep my upgrades up to date but rarely use IE at all (mostly to verify a problem with the internet).
Even works for the Microsoft Update site and that's really picky about the browser.

agreed!
After using Firefox, i try my best to avoid IE. Unfortunately this laptop Im using (my laptop is in need of repairs :( ) has IE7, i don't like the set up at all...can't wait to get mine back, or convince my dad to let me dl firefox on here.
TronDD Feb 29th, 08, 9:39 AM Get Portable Firefox from here:
http://portableapps.com/
It installs to a folder then when you give back the laptop you can just delete the folder and it's like it was never on there.
Tim.
ChaosEnvy Feb 29th, 08, 10:39 AM IE7 For Windows Update, everything else... the fox is the way to go.
VMXRACER Feb 29th, 08, 7:44 PM Another vote for Firefox!
