I have a '70 El Camino. I was wondering if a rear sway bar was standard. Mine doesn't have one, and it seemed kind of odd.

It would be odd with one. Not from the factory.... ever.

it all depends on what changes you're willing to make ......
all the things I've done to mine amount to a small price to pay to make it handle as well as it does :D

but like any other cars it all depends on what you want to do with it ...will determine how much money you need to spend where .....

people laughed when it was entered in an autocross timed event !! they weren't laughing when it finished third in the modified class behind two trailered in Corvettes !!
was I in over my head ....... WAY OVER !! was I lucky
would I do it again ... probbly not .... I'm older hopefully wiser & not an where near as Invincible as I thought I was ;)

70 El Caminos--FACT----- F-41 Susp. Pkg. Was NOT a factory option on ANY 70 El Caminos. NO-- Z-15--Z-25-Had the F-41 PKg.
How do I know? When I ordered my 70 SS 454-M-22 Camino in Feb. of 70, I ordered -- F-41--LS-6-- and A/C---.
1--- F-41 was not on the El Camino option list
2--- LS-6s-- N/A with A/C
3--- My -70 LS-5 M-22 is still in my garage.

El Camino didn't get the rear swaybar as an option, but it is very simple to add if you want it. Just put on a pair of boxed arms and mount the bar. El Camino is just another Chevelle, so Chevelle parts fit just like they should.
