: new 468 for the Biscuit
ImpBiscuit Oct 31st, 03, 12:25 PM I have orderd the Canfields with 113 CNC Chambers not the AFR's. It has been a while since I last posted. I have been reading updates on heads and it looked like there were some good things said about the Canfields. My old engine is a 454 ovel port. I am going to use in it my 71 Chevelle project. I am building the new 468ci for my 65 Biscayne. Canfield aluminum 310cc heads, Ultradyne mec roller .251/.260 @.05,.630/.630 lift, Isky Red Zone lifters, Comp Pro Magnum rocker arms,SRP Pistons Part # 139515, GM steel shaft, eagle rods and a Victor JR.
My Biscayne has 3.55 rear and a Richmond 6 speed.

ToyzRMe Oct 31st, 03, 1:20 PM OMG ANOTHER Biscayne!!!!! I didn't think anyone else even knew what they were.
I've got a '65 Biscayne 2-door post also. It's absolutely pristine. It is Tahitian Turquoise PPG base/clear with Turquoise interior.
It has a '65 331" SBC in it now and a 461" BBC on the engine stand behind it ready to be assembled for it.
It's a .030 over 4-bolt block, SRP 142986 pistons 10.3 comp., 6.385 H-beam rods, 4" crossdrilled steel crank, Canfield 310cc heads, heavily reworked Holley Strip Dominator intake, and an HP 950 carb. The cam is a Bullet solid roller, 246*/250*@.050 with .663 lift on intake and exhaust ground on 108* LSA. 2" hookers with 3" headpipes into an X pipe and Ultra-Flow welded race mufflers.
The trans is a T-400 with a Trans-Go stage 2 kit and a Continental "tight 10" converter. 12 Bolt posi with 3.73 gears.
Post your car info. I'd be interested in your suspension and wheel/tire combo.

-Kid That hurt me just to read it. :(
SS540 Nov 1st, 03, 7:43 AM Sherri & I have a 59 Biscayne. I put a 350 hp 396 in it with a Muncie 4 speed. It gets as much attention as the SS540 Chevelle does.
A friend just bought a 66 Biscuit that was an ex super stock car and he is making a street car out of it. Should be neat.
ToyzRMe Nov 1st, 03, 8:56 AM I went to the Texas Musclecar Shootout at TX Motorplex last Sunday and raced one of my 442s, the '70 model. I didn't see one Biscayne there out of the 400+ cars. (Only one other Olds also!) So next shootout I'm going to take the Biscayne. I just love racing a car that few people have. And I just love those old Stock/Super Stock style BIG cars!
Anyone racing a '65-'70 B-body, please let me know your wheel and tire combo and what suspension mods you've done. I'd like to see what everyone's 60' results are with their setups. Traction is not an issue now, but I suspect it will be in the very near future.

Hobart Nov 1st, 03, 9:58 AM Biscaynes rule  , especially '59s graemlins/thumbsup.gif . I have a '59 Biscayne 2dr post that need a full resto (not sure what I'm gonna do with her); and a '59 Biscayne Sedan Delivery - can't wait to get started on that resto, just trying to accumulate some cash before I dig in.
BigRed-L72 Nov 1st, 03, 10:42 AM Not sure if this will show:

Randy Toyz..rims are Torque Thrust D. 15x8 rear Can`t remember spacing but they are std issue. 15x6 front.
Those tires were 275-60`s now 295-65`s front tire are 215`s
Hobart and Toyz thanks

So the 295x65R-15's fit ok on those 15x8 torque thrusts? That is a nice tall tire with alot of sidewall. That's what I'm looking for. I believe the taller sidewall on the 295x65 will make it work better at the track (flexible and able to wrinkle).
How is traction with your setup. Is it pretty consistent?
Randy
BigRed-L72 Nov 5th, 03, 2:19 PM The fender lip on the drivers side needed to be trimmed. This wasn`t too much of a big deal because they had been cut back some 30 years ago.
The tires will rub on occasion on the drivers side on some turns.
I could fit a 10" rim under it but then I`d have to order a custom size.
Race wise, it`s tough, at least for me to get any consistancy.
Track prep is the key.
1.70-2.0`s for 60 fts.
