Tired of dinking around... none of the info lines up here reading posts. Moroso's site with widths and specs doesn't make a darn bit of sense either ast it says the sbc mounts lower mounts are not as wide as the BBC ones. I have BBC #62530 uppers (2 5/8's wide) and they fit the lower mounts ok, but leave me with some header issues... but with all this said... what the "h-e-double hockey sticks" do I have for lower mounts? Weak 307's if I believe a few posts in the archives.
Well with all that said... enough BS'n around. Where or who can I contact for Lower BBC motor mounts? Moroso doesn't make them for a 68 chevelle. I would assume GM discontinued them long ago... anyone know a vender? Thanks
Energy Suspension makes a kit. 69$

I thought that you used both upper and lower mounts from the frame you have, wether it's a BBC or a SBC. I beleive this is what I did with my Nova swap.

CC (or whatever your name is),
Finally you mentioned that you are working with a 68. For the 68-72 chassis, there are 2 different frame brackets for the engine mounts. One set is for 350-454 engines and the other is for 307 engines. Why Chev made 2 different frame brackets is probably not even known by God himself, but, nevertheless, they did.
The 350-454 brackets are LOWER and NARROWER than the 307 brackets. Consequently, the rubber engine mounts for the 350-454 are the interlocking type and WILL not go down over the 307 brackets. The 307 rubber mounts are just the plain, non-interlocking type. Unless you are familiar, by sight, with the difference between 307 and 350-454 brackets, then the only way to easily to tell them apart is to do a side by side comparrison. I have found 350-454 brackets here at TC by placing an ad in the WANT AD section. I'm at work now, but if you wish, when I get home, I can dig out some old 307 brackets and measure their height and post it later. I cannot easily measure the height of the 350-454 style brackets on my cars, but they are lower than the 307 brackets. This should help you out in selecting the correct brackets for your car.

Thanks guys... I don't see lowers on the Energy ones...
Tom... only problem I see with what you have posted is that my car suposedly came with a 327, had a 350 in it, and now the BBC uppers which moroso says are 2 5/8's opposed to the SBC's being thinner, fit mint width wise over the lowers. I better measure to be sure when I get back out to the storage barn. I dunno how this can be such a PIA on a car that came with a factory BBC I dunno. Maybe I should just try and wedge it into a chevette or something LOL.

I just pulled out an old pair of 307 frame brackets and they are 1 15/16in hi and where the rubber mount fits down over the bracket and the long bolt goes through, they are 2 1/2in wide. The brakcets for a 350-454 are about 1/2in lower and probably about 1/4-3/8in narrower.
Hope this helps.

When I was still running the Moroso solid mounts in my 68 I used the stock smallblock lower mounts on the frame. Used the Moroso mounts but I used 3 flat washers on each of the bolts that bolt the mount to the block. This spaces out the mount and raises the engine enough to clear both the oil pan on the crossmemeber and any header issues. I have run hedman,Hooker supercomps, and Lemons headers with the above setup. I have also used the cheap Moroso deep sump pan and the Milodon pans with no clearance problems either. BTW if you decide to use either of the above pans you might as well notch the crossmember, it makes engine R&R alot easier.

Thanks for the advice guys... those measurement are great Tom... I will check them up against what I got and take it from there.
