well i put in a new pro billet, 6a, and blaster 2 coil. all i have to say is it runs so much better and it even feels faster. best of all no popping!!!. now i have to chech the fuel pressure, change plug gap and see if she pops on the bottle.

Make sure you go below .035 on that gap when you spray it cause even with the M.S.D., my motor popped like crazy when on the bottle till I took the gap down! Then if you want sneak back open a thou at a time till it pops just to see what you can run it at. Let us know what it does! Sounds like your in the right direction! graemlins/beers.gif

Was it the MSD or just the fact that what you had was worn out? What was your previous ignition system?

If you're having nitrous popping problems, plug gap won't help nearly as much as a colder plug will. By that, I mean find a plug comparable to the ones you have now, but the insulator for the center electrode is pulled back farther up into the plug. It will cure the nitrous backfiring. The downside is, cold plugs foul easier than hotter plugs. The upside is, MSD cures the plug fouling, and since you already have one, you're set. graemlins/thumbsup.gif

Ask me how I learned about nitrous backfires back in the 80's, and I'll tell a lurid tale of a steel Moroso air cleaner lid that blew off and inverted itself at the push of a button. graemlins/angry.gif

don't forget to (slightly)round off the corners of the electrodes with a small file for nitrous.

im not real sure what the prob with the old ignition was. the rotor wobbled a little and the mech advance seemed to be stickin a little and it looked like it needed a new cap and rotor and the shaft moved up and down about 1/8 in. i dont know which of those was the prob but the msd fixed it.
so to find a colder plug look at the center elctrode and the more of the metal thats stickin out the colder?

Here's a quick explaination between hot and cold plugs I got from doing a Google search.
