I'm builing a '66 Chevelle SS 396 to Pro Touring lines that will be driven extensively on the street. It will have stock exterior and interior, with upgraded motor, transmission, and air ride suspension. I pretty much know what I want but I just did something I thought I would ask some opinions on. The frame up just started.

Frame powdercoated, tubular a-arms on, just mounted spindles and caliper brackets. I painted all the tie rods and steering arms. Only after everinthing is tied down I noticed the bare metal of the new spindles. I know there will not be much to see underneath when the car is finished but eventually they will rust. I have several options and thought I would get some input. First, I can just leave them alone, they should look nice a year or two. Second, I could touch them up with a brush, that would protect them a little. Third, I could spray some clear on them, that might help a couple years and it would also help keep nuts and cotter pins looking nice. Fourth, I could spray everything with a silicone oil to keep it looking nice for a little longer. Any Ideas?

Spray clear on them, once dry spray all of the silicone you want on it. The contrast of the raw steel looks cool with the colors of the other parts.
