Don_Lightfoot Feb 23rd, 08, 10:51 PM Funniest P-O-P I've seen. Missing all kinds of information. Also, was the customer's name imprinted like that into the plate
Model number is for a 69 300 Deluxe Post Coupe V8.

I had a one owner 65 SS that had the owner's name on the POP.
I don't know how this POP advertised could possibly add value to any other car than the one it was made for?
SS69Chevelle Feb 23rd, 08, 11:09 PM Think that is a warranty card not a POP although similar...FWIW Andy
Gary S Feb 23rd, 08, 11:20 PM I've never seen a POP with the owner's name stamped into the metal. When the car was built and the POP was stamped, the owner's name wasn't known yet.
Every POP I have seen had the owner's name added in a special plastic tape by the dealer. They look like this.

Exactly my point Gary.
tar6569 Feb 24th, 08, 10:49 AM Thats a replacement plate. Looking at the 5-50 in the bottom right of the plate, that means 5 year 50,000 mile warranty as i recall so so the warranty was transfered at some point to the 2nd owner of the car. It was common on replacement protectoplates to have the 2nd owner info stamped into it. Also, the 07-9 means the vehicle was originally placed in service in July of 69.

This is correct. The second owner would be mailed this from Chevrolet (zoen office). Its a replacement POP.
SebJr Feb 24th, 08, 11:25 AM Thats pretty cool:yes:... I didn't know you could transfer warranties back then.
Don_Lightfoot Feb 24th, 08, 11:27 AM Replacement P-O-P makes sense guys, thanks. Any idea why they didn't put all the car information on the replacements? Maybe lack of space once the owner's info got put on it
WILMASBOYL78 Feb 24th, 08, 10:47 PM Good question about the info...would Chevy have records of second owner POP's that were issued..???

That was only done by the assembly plants. The Zone Office did not have the records to add the engine numbers, trans, axle, options codes etc. They were just clerical in those offices and furnished the dealer with the replacement POP for warranty purposes.
67 vette guy Feb 25th, 08, 2:02 PM What about the Leeds window sticker. I've been hiding out under a rock and have never seen one of these before. Were this placed next to the window sticker?
Don_Lightfoot Feb 25th, 08, 2:35 PM Sounds logical Mike
tar6569 Feb 26th, 08, 5:59 PM There is a warranty transfer paper that would have the original protectoplate imprint along with the dealer imprint and the transfer info. I think i have have a picture of one. I will check. I have two of those stickers from the Atlanta and Los Angeles Assembly plants. Both from 68 fullsize cars.
