cjlandry Jul 12th, 04, 9:44 AM I know another guy in Mississippi who had a 300ZX with a SBC engine. Said it was strictly for "street racing", though upon further questioning I found out it was at tracks without the timers turned on.
I like seeing imports with SBC power plants.
mr 4 speed Jul 12th, 04, 10:23 AM Pretty cool graemlins/thumbsup.gif
BowtieAaron Jul 12th, 04, 10:50 AM I like seeing imports with SBC power plants yes i do to.
i just thought it was awesome. them Supra/RX7's make great plants for a SB swap. and it was a budget build as well, turbos and IC's from a turbo coupe (those things are all over the place where i live).
my buddies and i, once we get some cash, are going to build a few SB imports, one is a 302(ford, i know i know, but my friend as 3 of them) in a CRX, hehe, and then im going to do an integra with a BBC in it, hehe i already have the modle of it built, just gotta makle it happen.
glad ya'll liked it.

Cable Dec 21st, 04, 1:50 AM You guys would like my little 280z then.....

The link in my sig has more pictures too.
Slowpoke70 Dec 21st, 04, 2:38 AM Cable, I really really like your ride. You must be happy with 1975's no longer having routine SMOG checks, huh?
If I can find a way to pass emissions, I wouldn't mind dropping my little 250HP 350 into my uncle's banged up 300ZX. He says its mine if I want it, but I'd need to have all the swap parts ready to go before asking him for it......someday.
About the Supra,
I think it is SWEET. Although their 480HP quote is a little off for a 3620 (stated weight) car going 117MPH, more like 450HP. Maybe if that's the car's driver-less weight, then that would make sense.
Either way, it is SWEET for a SMOG-headed, stock-cammed engine.
If it wasn't for my cast pistons.....I could duplicate that set up in my Malibu, lol.
MadMarv Dec 21st, 04, 2:53 AM I've seen that on the net before. Can't say I do or don't like it, thumbs up to the guy/gal who managed to pull it off.
I just hope its a bulletproof SB cus it looks like removal and install is just about, well, hard!
Kinda like the guys in datsuns that stuff a SB in there.. or "jags that run" SB chevy's.. never seen one in person, but I'd like to, and would like even better to be driven (or drive) around say limerock in one.
Stuff like that, directions or not, takes some patience, and since I've wanted to roll my 'velle into a rock quarry, they more to them. In all honesty, the best 'looking' car I've ever seen was a 38 or 41 (not sure) red packard at a cars-you-never-see-on-the-street show in VT, dusenbergs, so on and so forth.. That packard was mint.. cost upwards of a mil to get the sheetmetal right is what I heard.
And since they aren't making any more 38 or 41 packards, money spent sensibly enough, I guess...

chevelle68malibu Dec 21st, 04, 3:19 AM I happen to have 2 of those same turbos sitting in my garage for my chevelle. Engine will be stock heads, rods, and crank 350, forged 8.5:1, shorty headers flipped forward, blow through 650 holley...
I am just starting to run the 2 1/4" pipe from the headers to the turbos, so I still have a little ways to go. graemlins/beers.gif
wyatt Dec 21st, 04, 3:26 AM My uncle did a SBC swap on my father-in-law's '62 jag. It runs great, but needs new gearing. With 4.10s it just smokes the tires. The great news is, it's going to be ours (my wife's and mine) someday! I have a '77 280z sitting around that I'd love to put a SBC in. After the 'velle is finished, it may happen. I may have to ask you a question or two Bluerbl!

I think that body /year is cool, kind of a nightrider/mid 80's corvette look to it.

aaron Me too. I love making newer expensive cars look stupid with a primered import.
Most have no idea what hit them.....
