Guys I am sort of restoring slash cloning a 1972 Malibu. The car was org a fire metallic organge with black interior and bench seats. I am going to paint the car the org color but was thinking about putting white ss strips on it with a white interior with buckets. Questions is I know the carpet was black with the white interior, was the headliner? Also any other thoughts on the interior would be appreciated. I was thinking of putting a Covans dash in the car, black dash with white guages or carbon fiber, and a consol with the org floor shifter any thoughts. As far as the white inside goes, I know it was more of a pearl and I was thinking maybe the caddy pearl white outside for the strips, but I heard that paint was very high priced. The car has a 489 BBC with a t400 and a 12 bolt with some suspension work. Org AC car. What do you all think?

The headliner, dash, package tray, and carpet are all black. Seats, front and rear panels, windlace, and armrests are white.

71/72 are white - 70 is pearl.

Pat is correct. That would look sharp! I'm partial to white interior.

When I first bought my car I wanted to change over to black interior,but I really like the white now.I think it looks great with the black carpet and dash.

No White in '71. Pearl in '70, Sandlewood in '71 (as close to white that was available) and White in '72.

My blue 72 is just like what Pat discribed with black dask, carpet, and headliner.

Did the same thing on my 70 and elected to go with a white headliner and sail panels too. The carpet is a dark blue as is the dash and dash pad except for the guage insert which is black. I didn't like the idea of a black headliner with a white/pearl interior. Looks good with white face guages.
