I found a heater control control from a 67 Impala and was told it will fit a 67 Chevelle. It sure looks the same, but thought I better ask here first to be sure

Nope, not even close. The 67 Chevelle controls mount to the dash with two bolts running up through the bottom rail of the dash and thread in to the bottom of the control assembly. Also, the chrome frame on the 67 Chevelle controls just fits into the dash cutout. Although a control unit from a 66 Chevelle will bolt into a 67, check to make sure the control levers are the same. I know the control levers on a 66 Chevelle are different than those on a 67.
