i just pulled the smallblock engine outta my 1973 chevy pickup and can't find any casting numbers anywhere on the block.inside the timing cover is a number 8 cast into the block.reckon someone ground the numbers off the block in a past rebuild? :confused:the heads are 350 heads.

doh! never mind,i found it on the back of the block where the trans connects.it was under 1/2" of grease! redface.gif
