I ordered a gasket kit from my parts guy whenever I was ordering parts. He said I would need special intake gaskets for the Brodix heads and my intake (Performer RPM). Today as it was time to put on the intake I realize I was supposed to have P/N 1210 (oval ports) but I actually got P/N 1211 (rect ports). These are Fel-Pro gaskets. Anyway, I didn't want to use the rect. port gaskets because they were overlapping the ports a bit. The kit still came with standard Fel-Pro intake gaskets that fit the oval ports just fine.
I realize the difference between the gaskets that I am using now and the 1210 P/N: the latter one does not have a provision for a water jacket port, since the heads do not have them; the one I'm using does.
I'm wondering if this is really a big deal. I know that the intake is going to want water go to down in there but my dad and mine's thoughts are it is still sealed anyway...
Any thoughts? Thanks!
