I would like to change out the 3.08 gears in my rearend. What will I need to purchase in order to do this? Ring, Pinion and what else? I have a 10 bolt posi. I would like to do the swap myself but need to know EVERYTHING I will need in terms of parts. This is how I am learning to work on my own stuff.

Just a friendly suggestion, you could try and post this over in the trans/differential forum. BigGearHead posts over there and I am sure he can offer suggestions. graemlins/waving.gif

I did my own 12 bolt not too long ago (a couple of months). I did a lot of research both on this site and on the web.
Here's most of what you will need:
(1) Ring and Pinion
(2) Press to put on the pinion bearing/other bearings
(3) Bearing separator to take off pinion bearing
(4) A shim pack for the pinion
(5) A shim pack for the differential
(6) Marking compound
(7) A bearing/seal set (I got mine from Summit in a kit--all Timken bearings too, well worth it)
(8) Dial indicator and magnetic base--for backlash
(9) Some kind of long bar/tool to take off/on yoke
(10) Inch/lb torque wrench for preload
(11) Differential (Posi I presume)
(12) Various bolts
I'm sure there's more but this is what I can come up with off the top of my head. Definitely search this site and hope that BGH posts. He'll help you out. Maybe a nice Mod will move this for you. Good luck!
