The adjustment front and rear for the doors is on the hinge that bolts to the body. Hard to access with the front fenders on. If your thinking shims you are probably looking at the easy to access bolts that are on the door hinge.

if i am not mistakin there is a tool to reach those bolts. so if i can loosen the bolts to the body the doors will go back some????

if they are new doors, they probably just won't fit without some work.
you can see what we had to do to make ours fit.

If you get the bolts loose you can pull the door back. I would prop up the lower door to sill gap with a paint stick or two to control the weight of the door trying to close your lower gap when you loosen the bolts. I duct tape the "wedge" in place. This pertains to the stock doors, if you have aftermarket doors, they might not fit correctly without some extra work as dgwar mentioned.

With the front fender on, you can access all 6 of the hinge to body bolts with a box end half moon wrench, as I did to fix a sagging PS door. The problem is you need to have the door open all the way in order get the wrench on the bolts, which makes alignment a trial and error process. It is still faster than removing the fender though.
