Im going to install a fuel cell on my 68 and currently the trunk is being occupied by my nitrous bottle and a battery on each corner. I look through the summit catalog and there is an aluminum cell from RCI for 149.00 and then there is the Summit cell for a little more (w/foam). I dont know much about fuel cells but I know that aluminum cells are constantly grounded and that ones with the 0-90 ohm sending unit are easier on the install. Thanks in advance

I just ordered the 20 gal aluminum cell by RCI. It is exactly like the Summit one...comes with safety foam and a 0-90 ohm sending unit. Cost $180 I believe.

I have also heard not to go with plastic cells because they tend to leak at the fuel line connections.

I bought the RCI plastic cell and Justin is right they leak. I then went to the Summit brand 10 gallon aluminum cell.. no problems since...looks alot cleaner too.

I have the 15 gallon Summit cell in my 68 Pro street. Wanted the bigger one but it wouldn't fit between my frame rails (back-halfed car). My 70 has a plastic one that is being replaced with a powder coated Aluminum Summit 15 gal. Hopefully I'll be installing it soon. Fit and finsh on the Summit cells is decent. I have a buddy with a tubbed Challenger and he had an employee polish the summit cell and it sure is sharp graemlins/thumbsup.gif

I bought a Harwood plastic one that leaked from day one, then onto an rci plastic that did the same thing. Both leaked around the bulkhead fittings and I never got them to stop leaking. Now the car has the 15 gallon Summit aluminum fuel cell and it is the bomb, looks great and not even a drop loss, built alot better than any plastic one I have ever seen. Mark

Can you enlarge the bulk head fittings to 10AN size?

Yes you could install # 10 bulkhead fittings, the problem seamed to be with the teflon washers on both sides. The tanks have a rough surface and the washers don't seem to form a good seal. Anyway it was a 375.00 dollar mistake for me on two tanks. Mark

The Summit aluminum cells are RCI cells. The instructions included with them actually say and have the RCI logo right on them. I have one for mine and it is great... although I had a 12an fitting tigged on it instead of using the 8's.

I bought an RCI fuel cell with the same exact specs for $189 and the Summit one was $209.
