Yes!!

AND I figure one will run very well with no more then a set of medium valve heads, about 10 to 1 CR., a CC 270S solid cam and a good old Holley, 1850 600 cfm, vacuum secondary carb on a Holley 300-36, true high-rise along with a cheap set of 1.625" four tube, long headers!!

I bet you will scare alotta 5.0 owners!!

Just as a FYI, speed-o-motive carries small journal 3.75 stroke cranks now. You'd have to clearance the block and you might need to order a custom piston, but it would give you a 360 C.I. engine give or take.

I bored my '59 283 out to 4.00" (same as a standard bore 327 or 350, and added a 3.75" stroke crank. I now have a 377 from my original 283.

maybe some stock 5.0's, i guess. probably run better overall than a 305 would with the same parts. ;)

Yes, ran very well with a set of 441 heads with very little work, crane 244/501 cam,11-1 pistons, manley rods, and a 70 lt1 intake with a 670 avenger carb. Now I installed a big block and was looking to sell the 283,has only 100 miles on it.
