I have notice when cruising I can feel a slight surge from time to time. I have thought it was just the cam loping around but thought I would ask. It isn't a surge as in not enough gas because if I step into it the car goes fine. It is a cruise surge and is mild but I have wondered if it is normal like I thought. 292 cam 244 @50 530int/exh lift in 406sb.

Imo its a normal cruise surge especially if its under 2k rpm mine does it until 1400.....then the beast rolls

you running stick or auto? if its a stick it might be the cam . if your auto your converter may be to tight for the cam

yep I have a stick and the car even when surging will scream if you give it gas. The surge doesn't cause any hesitation.

I go with one or two jets sizes lean.

Well I'll monitor it and check the plugs for a week. I just went up one jet size and was wondering if that wouldn't be quite enough. Any recommendations on jet spread for a 406 with my specs. I have 72's and 74's in it right now. 750dbl, afr195's, 292 244@50 530 int/exh cam. I will say that after changing the timing curve it ildes at 950-1000 and sounds much better you can hear the cam better. Maybe it is the jets but I have fouled plugs with the jets just a tad higher which has boggled my mind. Maybe that the timing is on the car can handle the jets I had before.

sounds like the surge is the cam with a stick your running dirct drive. so you will get that

It sounds like the power valve is on the edge of dumping some extra fuel. They are set to dump more fuel in at low vac times. If it is set to high it will add more fuel at cruz or low rpm in high gear. I suggest go to a lower setting 2" or so and try. Also check if the fuel pressure is to high or float level is to high. If it is heavy car go to a high volume power valve and 50 cc pump.

I am definately no expert but I had that problem with mine with a demon carb. Turns out I had the secondary open a touch more than the primaries
