Hi guys, im building a 358 with vortec heads and a lunati voodoo 268 cam. The heads I bought came with an "ebay" spring upgrade kit made for the vortecs. Same as the ones found here http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/Chevy-Vortec-350-Head-kit-up-to-550-Lift-w-proof_W0QQcmdZViewItemQQcategoryZ33617QQihZ013QQit emZ230222170153QQrdZ1QQsspagenameZWDVW

These springs have a seat pressure of 110# @ 1.700 and an open pressure of 325# @ 1.200 with coil bind @ 1.150/ I looked on the lunati website for spring recommendations and there were two part pn's First the single springs (pn 73943) which specs are "Single With Damper, 1.750 Inch Installed Height At 108 Lbs. 1.250 Inch Open pressure 339 Lbs. Max Lift .630 Inch" Lunati also recommends these beehive springs (pn 74818lun) seat load 130@1.800 open load 318@1.200 and coil bind @ 1.140. So my question is will these valve springs be ok?All pn's cam right off of lunati's website http://www.lunatipower.com/Base/pdf/catalog.pdf

Thanks

Rob

I don`t know if those springs will be ok or not but i can tell you that my machine shop qouted me $25 to machine the guides for clearance. Then you can run the correct spring with no worries.

Those springs look ok to me, I am using the LT4 corvette springs on my vortec heads with the same cam, they have a spring pressure of 110 open and 310 closed. My machine shop said this is about perfect for that cam, alittle more closed pressure wouldent hurt but at 310 i should be ok. Ive only put about 100 miles on the engine and havent pushed it past about 5500 rpm but it seams to run great. Id say stick with the springs u have.
