I am continuing to chase down an issue with our 1969 Superbee and was wondering if anyone at TC could help.
The ignition system consists of an MSD 6AL, an MSD Pro Billet distributor, an MSD HVC coil, and MSD plug wires.
What is happening:
If we run the car with no rev limiter chip in it, it will rev to the moon with no issues - clear through 7,000+ rpm. No issues.
If we run the car with a rev limiter chip in it, say a 7,200, it will rev to about 5,800 RPM and then the ignition will break down. It sounds like it is hitting the rev limiter (but not as cleanly as it would if it were 'really' the rev limiter).
I have changed chips, checked chips, checked wiring - everything seems ok. The only issue is with the rev limiter.
Any help?
By the way - if it helps - pics of the engine compartment at www.adivanman.com/beespecks.html (http://www.adivanman.com/beespecks.html)
Thanks
James
