I have a K&N Air Filter with a junky element, its new but paper I was going to pick up a good filter, I have the 4" Induction hood so I have pleanty of space, is the E-3770 Air filter too much? It's a mile 350 w/ 268 Comp cam, headers, stock heads, Edelbrock 4 bbrl. This air filter is 7-1/2" tall, either than or the 6-1/2" one. What im also wondering is, with more air, do I need "more fuel" adjusting the carb, and whatnot? Maybe if someone can run a quick theory on air for me.

Actually it's either a 5" or 6" I think I was looking at the numbers included in the whole pack, not just the element. Same quesiton though.... tongue.gif

Phil,
With that setup, I doubt that you will ever run the engine much more than 6000 rpm. At that speed a "normal" 3" open element air cleaner will be overkill.

It is impossible to have too big of an air filter. However, once you reach the correct size for the engine's needs any larger does not help but doesn't hurt anything either. I run a 3" K&N on my 7000 rpm SB. It is a bit on the small side but I have no more room.
