what kind of seat belts were in a 66 chevelle were they 3 point with shoulder or just lap belts and were they retractable?????

A 2 point lap belt and the outer front seat ones are retractable.

I thought that the latter model 66's had a shoulder belt as an option...or am I mistaken on that??

Standard belts were 2 point and non-retractable. Custom Deluxe belts were 2 point with retractors.

I think I've seen a shoulder harness option listed late in 66.

Thanks for the info. When I bought the car the belts were in the trunk and they looked horrible I didnt even look at them I just threw them in the garbage. I was thinking 3 point belts but now I know

The custom deluxe also were different in the style of the buckle ;)

I believe 1966 was the 1st year that seatbelts were mandatory. Someone, correct me if I'm wrong.:pout:
