I have a 68 console for my 4 speed chevelle.The problem is there is quite a space between the console and the carpet. Is there a hump that fits under the carpet to fit the contour of the console or does padding need to be placed under the carpet ?

there is a mounting hump for the rear of the console and also there is a floor hump made for the console shifter that is configured differently than the non-console floor shift hump:thumbsup:
If your car was a non console car previously, say a bench seat 4 speed or a column shift automatic then as stated previously you will have the smaller hump . I guess you could try building up with padding as that will definately be easier than welding in a new hump.
