Well, we obviously missed the 10:1 compression ratio on the 434 and I'm running 104 octane now. One of the reasons I stayed with the Motown 220 Lites was because they required little work other than to put the 3-angle job on them that should have been there in the first place. These heads are pretty crappy no matter what, but came with the engine so we decided to try to use them.
Money's not the issue, but I not building a nitro monster either. I'm thinking Brodix or Dart - maybe something flowed in the 235 range. I just want a really good set of heads that I can use for hyd roller or mechanical roller (rebuild required - I know) and get more than 100 hours of operation from. I might even go with iron heads, but like the thermal characteristics of aluminum. I don't have to have angle plugs, but I think the highest flowing heads will have ap's. Final compression can be upwards of 11.5:1 since we blew the pump gas target anyway. I'm not totally bummed about that since the car really stands up when it gets the go-juice it wants....
Thanks,
