I have heard of nothing, but problems with it from reading around, however have never used one myself. I have had enough problems with cheap Proform stuff it is one of the brands I avoid like the plauge now.

Saw one "work" in a friend's car. The light came on at a different RPM than what was set (not even close). Also, the shaking of the car caused the dial to move around on its own. If you want, I can probably pull it out of the garbage for you!

Well that answers that! graemlins/hurray.gif

Thanks guys! I guess I'll spend a little more and go with an autometer.

shift light? whats a shift light? I just use my little cheapy black autoguage tach on the steering column. I might have finished in the top 5 instead of the top 10 if I had a tach I could see :D

those shift lights are junk. My MSD would make it go off all the time

Well, I've got one and it works fine. I've tested it at every rpm point up to 7000 rpm and it's been fine. It's triggered off my MSD box.

You do have to be very careful that the case doesn't ground. It will set it off. It must be insulated from a ground.

I also use some silicone around the edge of the dial once I set it where I want. I was concerned too that the dial could move around, but the silicone holds it fine and I just peel it off to reset it to another point and apply a little more.

Check into the Stewart Warner Performance shift light. It has some great features.

I've used one, and it worked great!

I saw the SW lights, they look nice. The 2 1/16" gauge setup would work perfect for me. I currently have an autometer z series tach mounted in an a-pillar pod. May have to sell it and pick up the SW.
Thanks Mark!

I used a whole slew of SW gauges in my '68 Camaro. I'm hooked on using them.
