Ah yes, life is once again grand in Dale Jr's life... He made the 110% correct decision last year in getting out from under his Evil Stepmother and now can concentrate on his career and his life. It's unfortunate in knowing his father wouldn't have wanted the teams like they are, but he's on the right path now. Congrats!

Nascar should be good this year, there were several changes in the off season that should prove interesting. Racing is one sport so many people enjoy, and if you don't like it ~ don't complain about it. We also race an asphalt car on a 1/2 mile track, so I love this time of year, spring can't come soon enough! :)

Great race!!!

I have become tired of NA$CAR too but since I have an HD TV now I figured I'd watch last nights race since it's broadcast in HD. WOW!!! HD rocks!!!

I'm thinkin the Hendrick cars will dominate again this year, JR knew what he was doing!!!

We need to have camera's in the trailer ... When the bad Boys get called in there ... ha ha ha. Man thats the kind of thing Nascar was all about back in the day. Now its big business. So you can't do that. Slap on the wrist. What a bunch of bull!! Those two Idiot brothers ( Bush) Two more Bush"s I can stand!! One lives in a big white house! Other two must be related!! ha ha ha ha

I can not handle 9 months of nascar.:DI endured through what seemed like an eternity of an endless amount of football threads (many of which had topic titles that you had to click to figure out what they were about) so you can sit quietly through this...

In that regard, I would entirely support a separate forum category for professional sports, like they did for politics/religion topics. It would sure make it easier for me to ignore football.

big congrats to Jr.-that was one of the best sprints i have seen-not a huge fan of rest. plates, but its pretty kool to see how it plays out in the drafting, who goes with who, like a chess match
of course, if you dont like nascar, you wont be reading my post anyway, right

Jr. winning is good for him, his team and especially Nascar. There may even be perks in there for Earnhardt Inc. as well.

if his father was around DEI would have the same resources that hendrick does, and jr. wouldn't have had to leave. Unfortunately teresa doesn't know anything about racing. It's so hard to win anymore, look at the top 4, regardless of who they are driving for, johnson, gordon, earnhartd, stewart, to win out of that group is unbelievable.

The one thing I do hate about the early races is Darrell Waltrip! My word, through the years he's gotten worse and to hear him constantly yabber about this, that and everything gets a bit annoying. If you believe him, there has been no better drivers than the Waltrips ~ NOT!

You mean the Waltrips aren't the best? I've lied to all these years by Darrel!!! Now I feel violated:mad: ;)

As much as I can't stand Darrel Waltrip, the ESPN commentators are sooooooooo much worse I thought. I dread when the time comes that ESPN gets the races again:sad:

Unless my ears deceived me, 'ol DW and co. jabbered on and on about JR yesterday -- he's as good as his daddy (NOT so far), he "sees the air" - like his dad: remains to be seen; blah blah blah. For the love of God, talk about somebody else for a while!
We'll see what happens this year for Mr. Earnhardt Jr. I guess the old excuse of "inferior equipment" won't wash any more.

you can't possibly be implying he isn't as good as his dad was in a restrictor plate car. last night was the hard evidence if you need it, some of his passes were brilliant, and its not easy to stay out in front when you have 2 lines of cars wanting to pass you.

That's exactly what I implyed. We'll see how he does when it's a REAL race, and there's 43 cars out there.
Nothing against JR; just, IMHO - he's got quite a ways to go before he's as good as his dad in any kinda car, restrictor plate or not. I may be a little prejudiced here. :D

I like Jr. but there's a long way to go before he's as good as his dad.Exciting race towards the end, they kept a Toyota from winning and Jr. won me $5 :).I'd have like to seen Stewart give Bush the black eye we heard about.

Anyone catch the drag race at Pomona? Not as fun as the shootout but a good race.Awesome seeing Force back in the car,and what a bad engine failure for T. Pedregon,BOOM!
