Did a switch from 3.08 to 3.73,in my 76 truck with a 700R4,the current tire is a 275 60 15.Does fine on the highway,a lot better than the 3.08s.Has a good punch off the line, could be better though, expected a little more. The usual tire out back is a 285 70 15,going to have to wait and see if the 4.11s,or more, would have been a better choice.Undecided if I'm going to a little bit of a higher stall converter or not, kinda $$ for a 700.Cam would like more than the stocker that's in it,I think. Also still have to finish the slapper bar end link mod contraption thingy. And pinion angle.

All in all a good swap,it's fun.
Heavy truck + hopped up 350 + 700R4 + Lockrite + 3.73 = :D

I was running a 4:10 gear in my 12 bolt 396 car and went from 25.5" tall tire to a 28" DR and I could tell a big difference. So I installed a set of 4:56 and now its back to the same type of acceleration as before. I run a tremec OD so the 4:56 are no big deal:D

I've got a 4.56 12 bolt set up for my Chevelle, too bad the car and truck 12 bolts don't swap,or I'd do it.This will be o.k. for now though.
