i have a set of new dual valve springs with a combined open pressure of 394lbs.i don't have a valve spring pressure tester yet and can't find anyone who does.i'm gonna just use the outer springs for my oval-track flat-tappet cam break-in and i'm curious how much open pressure they(outer only)have.are outer and inner springs usually about the same open pressure? i just need a ballpark figure to make sure they're not too stiff for break-in.can i just divide 194 by 2 to get the outer spring open pressure? :confused: thanks for your help.

The outer springs are a lot stronger, probalbly over 3:1, like 300 lbs to 100 lbs.
However, they should be OK, using only the outers for break-in......
