Have a friend doing a 66 with a bench seat, the car doesn't have the correct bench seat now. When did that little lever at the bottom that releases the backrest first appear? I know on the 66 buckets, that little button on the upper side wasn't there unless it happened sometime in the later part of the year. Thought the lever/button first showed up in 67 as a safety feature. Was this also true for the bench seat?:secret: Thanks

I believe it was 67 on the bench seat as well.

thanks, as usual an ebay sale first said it was out of a 65 el camino, when I check he said he didn't know if it was original to the 65; but his 66 bench seat 2 dr coupe that he got from his grandmother and was 100% original and has the lever, so thought maybe it changed sometime late in the 66 model year. Maybe it did. Anyone else?
