hey guys, i have a chance to get a (2001)502 long block for $500. "The number 3 piston went" bent a valve and scratched a cylinder wall. I havent seen it, but is this a good deal?
Also will my Dart iron eagles work on that block?

Now that's what I like to hear instead of the old "5 and 50" thing!!!

You know, the old "five minutes and fifty feet" guarantee!!

He, He!!!

Well, found out it wasn't a 502 long block.
After asking the guy to get me the casting numbers I found out it was a 8.1L (496) long block. I don't know if this would be good for a performance engine. any thoughts?
Can this thing be used with a carb with the right manifold?

But what good is it? What heads will it take, other than the stock ones? Are there any performance parts for it? Can I put a carb and intake on it and run it that way?

Pass on it. Long stroke, small bore truck engine with truck heads. Great torque, little high RPM race and hot rod type potential.
