http://www.chevelle.fr/chevelle.fr/photo/Gifs/Emoticones/Conduit_auto_nascar.gifHi everybody, my name is Fabrice, and i live in FRANCE, near PARIS (French Capital at 30 miles), i'm 35 years old !
Why coming to speak on this FORUM ? it's simply, because i really want meet american Chevelle amateur, have luck to learn with you many things about my Hobbie, show and write you how french people like me, live american dreams...

In France, there is on the web, some French forum about american cars, but no Special Chevelle Forum. I'm the Webmaster of the site www.chevelle.fr (http://www.chevelle.fr/), i'm not à professional of site create, so it's difficult for me to work on it, i develop it slowly and try do it right !! i have just the luck to get the name domain www.chevelle.FR (http://www.chevelle.fr/) !!!

http://www.chevelle.fr/chevelle.fr/photo/Gifs/Drapeau/123gifs023.gif

I bought my First american car at 25 years old, it was a 67 mustang with à 302ci (not origin of course !), my second car was à 70 mustang 302ci, after a 68 chevelle 4 doors 327ci, a 79 camaro 305ci ...During 6 years but the best moment of my life was the day when i saw the first time my Chevelle 66 2 doors, Blower B&M 144, 350ci 4bolt, th350..i really felt in love with this model of car !!! In FRANCE, have à chevelle 66 is very special, noboby have a car like mine, i think there is only 10 chevelle of 66 in my country ! I'm very proud to restore this car !

(This is an old picture !)

http://www.chevelle.fr/chevelle.fr/photo/Photos_Betty/Anciennes/Chevelle_66_Betty_640x480.jpg
When i bought it, 6 years ago, i drove it 2 month but the engine was tired, and i understood quicky that it need to be restore for all parts !!
It takes to me 5 years to restore, because i decided to do special choice for the parts i bought ! why buy a stock part like a cams or head cover when it's possible to have more horsepower, more strong and durability parts, nicer parts with aluminum or chrome...? my dream was to do à pro-touring street machin car, but to do that, it need many money and professional knowledge, i'm just à beginer !!
so i decided to do the best i could do on restore job, with the money budget i had !

(Me and my father)

http://www.chevelle.fr/chevelle.fr/photo/Photos_Betty/Moteur/40600007_500x300.jpg
At the moment i 'm really satisfy by te result of restore, it's not finished, i need to end the job of direction and suspension restore (arms bushing, suspension, pit arms.....), to adapte my front disk brake conversion, (it was drum and BEURK!!!! it's an horror to brake, too bad system, i think it's dangerous !), i need to adapte à B&M z-gate shiffter, and finish littles things on engine like Map sensor for ignition box (Mallory hi-fire 6).

(Last photo of my engine)

I wouldlike to say to all of you that i hope you will let me speak with you on this forum despite my bad english level school, (please forgive me my faults), because i never hd the chance to spent long holliday in the USA to learn ! (I often try to call at phone america to join dealers parts, every time they understand me, but it's really difficult for me to understand them !! (several accents in the USA, so difficult !!! and to fast for me !!! )

Have à nice day bye (http://www.chevelle.fr/chevelle.fr/photo/Gifs/fabrice2.gif)

(a last thing, don't laugh, her name is BETTY !!!!)

Thanks all for these welcome messages. someone of you said that's it's à nice work/job for my chevelle, you're right when we compare about french people because there are not much people in FRANCE that do a job like this on an american car (i meen that use aluminum parts, blower, electric cutout...parts like these are not often bought and install !) but compare to USA ??? i often think that in FRANCE we are some amators, newbie, beginners !!! I often see on TV or magazine (books), some restoration who are perfect, some street machine to dream of, some guy who have "gold " in their hand (french expression to say that a man is a real professional !), when we see the job they can do on a car.
IN FRANCE many guy decide to do a stock restoration, or sometime do a little power restoration choice, but build a real street machine or a pro touring car ?? one car sometime but we don't use to see that in my country, there are not many guy who have these competence to do that.
and the most important probleme for french guy is the cost of gazoline, very very expensive ($4,41 per Gallon !! Europe conversion 1,40 euros / litre) so many people who like américan cars, are afraid to pay gazoline !!!!
Fortunalely this price problem in FRANCE don't stop people, like me, to live their hobbie, never mind for cost of gazoline !!!!

(Merci pour le membre qui m'a parlé FRANCAIS !! c'est cool !!)

Other member said that it's cool to drive a chevelle in FRENCH streets, yes it's really cool, people hear sound engine, they turn head, and when they see the color, they are very surprice ! Here , american cars are bigger than french cars, motor are bigger, sound is more important....and the principal thing is that all new car, today, seem the same, looklike idendical, no fun, no plaisir, no sound engine...i hate new car..there is only one new car i LOVE: this is again an american car: THE NEW MUSTANG 2005-08 (last i saw was the new "BULLIT" model !!!) ! this is the reason why, drive an american car in FRANCE, a street machine, a Cadillac 59, a 57 chevy bel air or...a cuda 440 (i have friend who have a 70 440ci) is SO DIFFERENT, is so FUN and COOL !

Hi and thanks for all posts you wrote me !

At the moment, i going on retoring the retractable seat of my front bench (driver side first after passenger side !)

each time I must entirely dismount all the parts that I restore because they are often rusted or unsoldered for example... spring inside the bench driver seat was broken, and the metal frame of the seat was unsoldered too with failures with 2 other place presented !

I needed to use my M.I.G post to weld ("resolder" word ???) to repair it !

I think it's normal because 42 years old used !

Just need to be paint after, and i' will install on it the new seat cover, like my front lower bench that is "ready to install on the car" !

I just need some littles parts like front bench tracks and the parts in aluminum who drive it with the cables ! (if i don't use correct words to discribe these parts, see on my "classified ads search parts" !)

I will post some photos for the next time !

Have a great day and hope that 4 July with "indépendance Birthday célébrate" was a nice day for all "USA MEMBERS" and american people ..!:hurray:

Bye (Fabrice)
