Hello, My father has a 66 malibu with a stroked 350(383). He is using a no name 7qt. oil pan, which is being dented by the tie rods on his center link. The motor mounts are in factory location and engine has not been moved forward or backwards. He wants to use a 7qt. pan! Is there a specific pan designed for this situation? Is this a common problem?

My zerk fittings were hitting on my oil pan after I swapped motors. I gently "clearanced" them with the end of a broom handle and a few hammer blows. Dented it in about 1/4" - Works fine.

Its not the zerk fittings that are hitting the oil pan. Ther are 2 major dents in the pan from the tie rods. These are some pretty good sized dents, that will take more than minor clearancing to make room for.
