I was in the process of putting together a extreme budget build on a 350. I got six pistons and rods in. When I went to do 7 and 8. Both rods where giving me inaccurate torque readings. One rod bolt on each rod was stripped out. Theses rods are used rods from this motor originally. Can I just get two new pairs of stock rod bolts and have them installed or is this not possiable without redoing the big end of the rod?

You can replace the bolts, the machine shop will press them out, and put the new ones in. Then they have to hone the rod assembly where the bearings ride because the new bolts change the way the cap fits a bit.

I believe you must recondition the rod after replacing the bolts.
Since the bolt locates the cap.
That is, if this is a through bolt type rod, with no dowel pins.
Bring it to a good machine shop, and tell them what the problem is.
